The Kurdistan Human Rights Association (KMMK) has expressed deep concern over the confirmation of the death sentence for Ms. Pakhshan Azizi, a social worker and human rights advocate. The association views this sentence as a blatant violation of the right to life and fair trial principles. Ms. Azizi, known for her efforts to promote human rights and improve social conditions, now faces a severe threat to her life. This ruling, the statement emphasized, not only contradicts human rights principles but also represents a suppression of individual freedoms and peaceful activism.

KMMK calls on Iranian authorities to uphold their international human rights commitments and immediately halt the execution of Ms. Azizi and other political and ideological prisoners. The association further demands the immediate release of all political detainees and an end to the brutal repression of political dissent in Iran.

“We firmly assert that no one should face execution or other cruel punishments for peaceful activities or defending human rights. Such practices are a clear violation of fundamental rights, and the international community must respond to them,” the statement read.

The KMMK, standing in full solidarity, reaffirms its commitment to advocating for human rights and individual freedoms. It urges the global community, international organizations, and human rights activists to amplify Ms. Azizi’s voice and apply pressure on Iranian authorities to revoke the death sentence and secure her immediate release.

“Freedom for Pakhshan Azizi is freedom for all of us.”
