Blatant Violation of Human Rights: Political Prisoner Motaleb Ahmadian Denied Urgent Medical Care in Fashafouyeh Prison

K.M.M.K:

Motaleb Ahmadian, a political prisoner from Baneh, currently serving his 16th year of imprisonment in Fashafouyeh Prison, is being denied access to specialized medical care and life-saving surgery despite his critical health condition. Prison authorities and judicial officials have reportedly shown deliberate negligence in addressing his urgent medical needs.

According to reports, Ahmadian suffers from a series of severe health issues, including diaphragmatic hernia, umbilical hernia, displacement of stomach contents into the chest cavity, rupture of the diaphragm, intestinal adhesions, destruction of the stomach wall, serious gastrointestinal ulcers, acid reflux, and unstable blood pressure.

The denial of adequate and specialized treatment constitutes a clear violation of basic human rights and the principles set forth in international human rights treaties. Both international law and the regulations of Iran’s own Prison Organization guarantee the right of prisoners to receive medical care appropriate to their condition. Yet in Ahmadian’s case, this fundamental right has been blatantly ignored, with deliberate negligence preventing him from accessing essential surgery and specialized care.
