Marivan: Arrest of an environmental activist by security forces

 According to the report recived by KMMK, On Saturday, May 28, 2022, Iranian government security forces arrested an environmental activist identified as “Iraj Rahimzadeh”, 44 Years old and native of “Rvar” in the city of Marivan, without issuing a court order, and transferred him to an unknown location. The reason for the arrest and the charges against the environmental activist are unknown.

It should be noted that Iraj Rahimzadeh was sentenced by a court of the Iranian government in Sanandaj in 2020 to three months in prison for propaganda against the regime in favor of a Kurdish party.

He was arrested by security forces in Marivan on February 19, 2020, and was released on bail after completing his interrogation in March of that year.
