Unemployment 120 workers of Zarshouran Tekab gold mine
According to a report from the Kurdistan Human Rights Association, Zarshouran Gold Mining, the largest miner of gold in Iran and Tekab in eastern Kurdistan, has been closed since 23 July 2017, and all 120 workers with 5 months’ wage arrears are now unemployed.
According to the workers of this mine:
This mineral unit was the only job opportunity available to the people of this region, but with the inadequacy of current management closed, and until March of 2016, more than 200 workers, for reasons that are still unknown to us, 83 workers were adjustment.
Zarshouran gold mine had 51% of the native workers of the region and 40% of the inhabitants of the villages around Zhorshahr. It should be noted that the Islamic Republic of Iran does not accept any form of association and independent organization, and by establishing Islamic Workers’ Associations ‘ , The labor mobilization is trying to deter independent organizations, and independent labor activists are condemned to violent clashes and long term imprisonment.
