On Monday, January 4, 2026, Mohammad Mehdi Idian, a 19 years old from Ilam, was detained by security forces near the Khomeini Hospital in the city and taken to an unknown location. According to reports, the detention of this citizen was carried out with the use of extreme violence and the possibility of his hand being broken is stated to be very high.
Also, in the continuation of mass detention in this city, on Sunday, January 3, 2026, at least three other citizens named Fariborz Faraji, Amir Ali Abdian, and Sadra Mansoura were arrested by security forces without any judicial warrant.
