Iran; At least 25 killed in December 2025 and January 2026 protests in several provinces

K.M.M.K:

During the crackdown on nationwide protests in December 2025, human rights sources and local reports reported the killing of at least 25 protesters in the provinces of Ilam, Lorestan, Kermashan, Hamadan, Chaharmahal-e Bakhtiari, Fars, Isfahan, Qom, Kohgiluyeh and Boyer Ahmad. The victims died in various cities, mainly from gunfire by security forces.

Based on information gathered from Kurdish human rights media and local networks, the names of the victims by province and city are as follows:

Isfahan Province
Fouladshahr: Dariush Ansari Bakhtiarvand – December 31, 2025

Azna: Shayan Asadollahi, Vahab Qaedi, Mostafa Fallahi (15 years old), Ahmadreza Amani, Taha Safari (15 years old) – January 1 and 2, 2026

Lorestan Province
Quidasht: Amir Hossam Khodayarifard – December 31, 2025

Chaharmahal-e-Bakhtiari Province

Lordegan: Ahmad Jalil, Sajad Zeilaei (Valamanesh) – January 1, 2026

Fars Province
Marvdasht: Khodadad Shirvani, Erfan Bozorgy, Mansour Mokhtari, Mohammad Ghasem Rousta – January 1 and 2, 2026

Neyriz: Amir Mohammad Kohkan – January 3, 2026

Hamdan Province
Hamdan: Amir Bayat – January 2, 2026

Province Kermashan

Human rights organizations warn that the actual death toll may be higher and that some cases have not yet been fully documented due to security pressures, threats to families, and severe restrictions on information. These organizations are calling for an independent, transparent, and international investigation into the use of firearms against unarmed protesters.
