According to a report received by the Kurdistan Human Rights Association News Center (KMMK), Pakhshan Azizi, a Kurdish journalist, social worker, and political prisoner currently held in Evin Prison, has been sentenced to death by the corrupt judiciary of the Islamic Republic of Iran on charges of “rebellion” (Baghie).

Recently, Pakhshan Azizi has been deprived of the right to make phone calls and have in-person visits. In a letter she released from Evin Prison some time ago, she recounted her experience of torture by security agencies, writing, “I have been hanged by interrogators multiple times.” She added, “We may be small for central authority, but for their sentences, we are considered the heaviest and greatest.”
