Kurdistan Human Rights Violations Monthly Report /January 2022

The Human Rights Violations Report for January 2022 summarizes the efforts of the Kurdistan Human Rights Association, citing reports compiled by the human rights organization. This report is not a complete report due to the lack of permission of the I.R government to human rights organizations and groups, and depicts only a part of human rights violations in Kurdistan.

Islamic Republic of Iran violates the civil, political and social rights of the Kurdish people by detaining Kurdish citizens, and has continued to do so. Violations of freedom of opinion and expression, violations of the right to life and personal security, and government discrimination are cases that are perpetrated daily by the Iranian government.

1: Execution.
This month ( January ), the execution policies of our Residents have continued, so that in this month, 12 people were executed and 2 others were sentenced to death.

2: Assassination and disappearances.
It should be noted that assassinations, killings and direct shootings of citizens by the Iranian government have continued. In the same context, one citizen was killed in a suspicious manner and also a group of citizens were shot directly, as a result of which 2 person were injured and two other, Behnam Ahmad Bakhm, a resident of Erbil (Hawler) in southern Kurdistan, and Saadi Khaledi, a Native of Paveh and resident of Afghanistan has been assassinated.

3: Arrest and imprisonment
This month (January ) we have witnessed the continuous arrest and imprisonment of citizens in Urmia, Sanandaj, Kermanshah, Mahabad, Khorramabad, Ilam, Hamedan and Lorestan. According to statistics collected this month, 50 compatriots, civil and political activists have been arrested and 6 prisoners have been sentenced to prison. It should be noted that 5 of this number are women.
Following the issuance of oppressive verdicts that are issued arbitrarily against the Kurdish nation,
4 citizens have been deported to Iranshahr for 16 years.

4: Kolbars and businessesmans
The kolbars, as always, have been directly attacked by the IR armed forces. The IRGC, which is known as a terrorist movement, and the Iranian Border Guards have also targeted the Kolbars this month, killing 3 kolbars, wounding 14 others and disappearing in the Margur Urmia highlands.
It should be noted that so far no institution in Iran and Kurdistan has taken constructive action in this regard and no one has been prosecuted for this crime.

5: Suicide
The number of suicides of citizens is increasing and we have witnessed an increase in suicides of citizens, especially young persons and women. Suicides and murders of 16 people have been reported this month. Of these, 13 committed suicide and three others were killed.

6: Landmines:
According to information gathered this month, six citizens of Kurdistan were injured by mine explosion.

7: Refugees
The Islamic Republic of Iran, by imposing difficult political and economic conditions on the people and citizens of Kurdistan, has forced a large number of people to leave their place of residence and leave Kurdistan.
The colonial and anti-human policies of the Iranian government are the main cause of the displacement of the people, a situation that has become more difficult day by day and absolute despair has prevailed in the society.

Finally, the Kurdistan Human rights association calls on the society and people of Kurdistan to be diligent in achieving their legal and natural rights, to mediate any human rights violations, and to be diligent in creating a free society.
