According to the news received by the Kurdistan Human Rights Association, on May 8, 2021, “Miad Bahram Sohrab”, a former member of the Kurdistan Human Rights Association and a political activist in East Kurdistan, was arrested by the Kurdistan Climate Comfort Office in Sulaimaniyah and has been in Uncertainty for a month. .
According to a reliable source from the Kurdistan Human Rights Association, he was arrested in the hotel room of his domicile, blindfolded and taken directly to prison. A month has passed since his arrest without any connection to outside prison.
The Kurdistan Human Rights Association, while condemning the arrest, demands clarification and the reason for his arrest and his release as soon as possible.
“Mi’ad Bahram Sohrab”, a former member of the Kurdistan Human Rights Association and a political activist in East Kurdistan, is in danger of death if extradited to Iran and shouldn’t be extradited to that government under any circumstances.
He has been approved by the UNHCR as a refugee and we call for efforts to secure the release of this East Kurdistan political activist from the UN Mission in South Kurdistan.
