Death and repression in Sanandaj, threat to cut off access to information

K.M.M.K:

The Kurdistan Human Rights Association Research Center has announced in its new report on the events of Thursday, January 8, 2026 in Sna (Sanandaj) that Iranian security forces have used military weapons and shotguns to suppress public protests, resulting in the deaths and injuries of a number of citizens.

The report says that in addition to direct repression, security forces have collected satellite dishes by identifying them through drones to limit access to independent information.

The human rights organization also emphasized that threatening text messages from intelligence agencies have intensified the atmosphere of fear and information control, which seriously violates the right to freedom of expression and access to information.
