K.M.M.K:
The death sentences of three political prisoners Farshad Etemadifar, Masoud Jamei and Alireza Mardasi, who had been sentenced since July 2025 by Branch 1 of the Ahvaz Revolutionary Court on charges such as “corruption on earth”, “membership in the People’s Mojahedin” and “propaganda against the regime”, were confirmed and communicated to them on November 14, 2025 in Sheiban Prison in Ahvaz. The three had been held in security detention centers for months under pressure, long interrogations, torture and deprivation of independent lawyers, and are now facing immediate execution.
Human rights sources report that the confirmation of these sentences came at a time when all three prisoners have faced widespread violations of fair trial standards, long-term detentions without access to lawyers and physical and psychological torture.
Farshad Etemadifar, born in 1996 and from the village of Pichab, was detention in June 2023 along with two other citizens and held for months in the IRGC Intelligence Detention Center under security pressure and forced interrogations. His indictment included serious charges including “moharebeh” and “gathering and colluding against national security.”
Masoud Jamei, 47years old, a father of four, was detention in August 2023. A former oil well guard, he suffers from advanced stomach cancer and several other serious illnesses. His family says that the lack of treatment and prison conditions have brought his health to a critical state.
Alireza Mardasi, a veteran teacher from Ahvaz, was detention on August 3, 2023. Despite severe respiratory problems and an urgent need for medical attention, prison officials have prevented him from being transferred to medical facilities outside the prison, an issue his family describes as “systematic pressure and white torture.”
The confirmation of the death sentences of these three prisoners has sparked a wave of concern among families, human rights activists and civil society organizations, with reports stressing the possibility of their imminent execution. The continuation of this process once again highlights the deteriorating human rights situation and the systematic violation of the right to life and fair trial in Iran.
