On Monday, February 12, 2024, Abdolrahman Ahmadi, residing in the Farajeh neighborhood in Sanandaj, took his own life due to his inability to afford the medical expenses for his eye condition, which led to his visual impairment.
It should be mentioned that the medical treatment for his eye condition was reported to cost 70 million Tomans (approx. 1200 €), and the motive behind his suicide attempt was attributed to poverty and the inability to cover medical expenses.
