According to reports received by the Kurdistan Human Rights Association, on Friday, May 6, 2022, two members of the board of directors of the Kurdistan-Marivan Teachers’ Union, Eskandar Lotfi and Massoud Nikkhah, were arrested by Iranian security forces.
They were transferred to the IRGC Intelligence Detention center in sanandaj on May 1 for interrogation.
It should be noted that the two teachers’ union activists had only one minute of contact with their families during their detention, during which time they were denied family visits and access to a lawyer.
The Coordinating Council of Iranian Cultural Associations has announced that Eskandar Lotfi and Massoud Nikkhah are on a hunger strike for the sixth day in a row.
