On Thursday, January 8, 2026, Ali Abbasi, a 19 years old from Gilan’e Gharb and a resident of Tehran, was the target of direct fire by Iranian security forces during popular protests. After being transferred to the hospital and undergoing surgery, he disappeared and his body was finally identified on January 10 among the victims registered with the Kahrizak forensic doctor.
Previously, several cases of security forces transporting protest victims from the hospital had been reported. Informed sources have also reported that Ali Abbasi’s body was handed over to his family after paying 700 million Tomans.
