Marivan: Two 8-Year-Olds Summoned and Threatened Over Nowruz Celebration

K.M.M.K

According to KMMK’s correspondent, on Saturday, March 22, 2025, Iranian intelligence authorities in Marivan summoned two 8-year-old children, Milan Rahmani, son of Mohammad Gharib Rahmani, and Malek Ghaderi, son of Naser Ghaderi, both from the village of Sardosh.

Reports indicate that the children were summoned for allegedly participating in the Nowruz celebrations in Sardosh and for having the flag of Kurdistan Region painted on their faces.

In the past two days, a significant number of residents from the villages of Né and Sardosh, near Marivan, have been summoned and detained by Iranian intelligence, security offices, and the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) intelligence division in Marivan.

It is important to note that summoning, interrogating, and threatening underage children violates the Convention on the Rights of the Child and is considered illegal.
