According to reports received by the Kurdistan Human Rights Association, the Revolutionary Court of the Government of Iran in Sanandaj (sna) sentenced Afshin Hosseinpanahi, a civil activist, to one year in prison in absentia on charges of propaganda in favor of opposition groups and organizations .This sentence has been notified to this civil activist April 2022.
It should be noted that Afshin Hosseinpanahi had previously been sentenced by the Court of the Islamic Republic of Iran to 8 years and 6 months in prison in October 2017 on charges of holding Nowruz and collaborating with a Kurdish party.
He was released on parole in April 2020 after serving nearly three years in prison.
He was also sentenced to one year in prison in 2011 by the Revolutionary Court of Iran on charges of propaganda against the regime, following the case of the suspicious death of his brother Ashraf Hosseinpanahi, and was released after serving his sentence.
