Masoud Nikkhah, a teachers’ union activist was re-arrested

On Wednesday, May 11, 2022, “Masoud Nikkhah”, a Kurdistan-Marivan teachers’ union activist, was arrested again by Iranian government security forces in Marivan.
According to the report, the security forces of the Iranian government raided the house of this union activist in Marivan at 2:30 AM and arrested him again. Security forces also searched the cultural activist’s home and confiscated the phones of the family members.
It is worth mentioning that he was temporarily released on bail on Tuesday, May 10, after eleven days of detention.
The Islamic Republic of Iran has detained and tortured teachers and union activists in Iran and East Kurdistan in response to protests against injustices and demands for rights. During the recent protests by teachers, Eskandar Lotfi, Sha’ban Mohamadi and Masoud Nikkhah, three Marivan teachers’ union activists, are still being held by Iranian security forces.
