Iranian refugee and family at risk of deportation from Germany

K.M.M.K:

According to reports received by the KMMK news center, a Kurdish refugee living in Germany is facing the risk of being forcibly deported to Iran, a move that could violate German asylum laws and the country’s international obligations.

According to the report, Mozaffari Rovar, born in 1985, has been living in Germany since 2020 and his asylum application has been rejected several times. He recently received an official notification that he has only one month to leave Germany or he will be deported to Iran.

It should be noted that the man resides in Germany with his wife and three children. One of his children was born in Germany and the other two have been integrated into the country’s education system. He has been involved in political activities during his years in Germany and faces a serious risk of prosecution, detention, and heavy punishment if returned to Iran.

It is worth noting that human rights activists emphasize that the expulsion of this family could be contrary to the principle of non-refoulement contained in the German Asylum Law (AsylG), the Residence Law (Aufenthaltsgesetz), and the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child.

This Iranian refugee has called on human rights institutions and relevant authorities to urgently review the case and prevent the expulsion order and the violation of his and his children’s fundamental rights.
