Weekly Report on Suicides, Street Murders and Femicide

(July 29, 2025 to August 4, 2025)

Prepared by the Kurdistan Human Rights Associations

K.M.M.K:

In the geography of Iran, especially (Kurdistan), every suicide is a wake-up call; but these alerts are of no importance to the government that has made the people victims of its poverty-stricken and oppressive policies.
Suicides often occur in the shadow of extreme poverty, unemployment, absolute hopelessness and the absence of any clear social or psychological horizon.
In Iran, suicides are interpreted as “gradual death”; a death that is not caused by a personal decision, but the result of structural pressures. These are systematic, delayed murders.

Suicide victims this week:

  • Arezo Haqmoradi – Sanandaj
  • Amirali Beigzadeh – Shabad
  • Parisa Shahsavari – Qorveh
  • Danial Momivand – Toisrkan
  • Reza Amani – Asadabad
  • Payam Ahani – Kermanshah

Each of these names is a silent cry from the hearts of people who can no longer bear it. Economic devastation, lack of personal freedoms, the destruction of hope, and the unbridled growth of prices, including the price of bread, which has multiplied, are all factors that drive people to suicide.

But the murders that occur on the street or in the home are a sign of the social rupture and anger that are a direct result of the oppressive and ineffective policies of the Islamic Republic.
In a society where there is no justice and social security, violence is rampant.

Victims of street and family murders this week:

  • Reza Rostaminejad – Al’Ashtar
  • Ali Rahmati – Borujerd

Femicide:
A 72 years old woman was murdered by her husband with gardening tools. The identity of this victim has not been announced by official sources. This crime is a reminder of the absolute helplessness of women who die in the silence of their homes.
In a land where the law serves domination and justice is the victim of discrimination, being a woman is a danger in itself. Women who have no shelter or recourse are killed every day in the homes that should be their safe haven. They die silently, but each of their deaths is a cry against a world that has not heard.

This report is compiled based on field sources and local data, in a situation where security pressures and government censorship have made it difficult to access the full truth. What we see is only the surface of the tragedy. Its depth is still in the dark…
