Urmia; So’da Khadir-zadeh attempted suicide in prison

On Thursday, August 18, 2022, the female political prisoner “So’da Khadir-zadeh” committed suicide in the central prison of the Iranian government in Urmia.

According to this report, So’da Khadir-zadeh tried to commit suicide by hanging herself with a scarf, but she was saved before died and now she is receiving medical treatment in the prison infirmary.


According to the information of an informed source, on Tuesday, August 18th, the security forces summoned and interrogated and threatened her in the Iranian government prison in Urmia.


According to the statements of an unofficial source, So’da Khadir-zadeh gave pills to her two-month-old baby before committing suicide, but its authenticity has not been confirmed.

So far, the reason for the detention and the charges against this Kurdish woman have not been revealed.

It is necessary to remind, So’da Khadir-zadeh is from Piranshahr (Piranshar) and detained by I.R’s security forces in that city on Thursday, October 12, 2022, and after 25 days of interrogation, she was transferred to the prison in Urmia.


It is worth mentioning that on Monday, June 20 of this year, her baby was born by caesarean section in a hospital in Urmia, and after a day, she was returned to prison in critical condition.
