Arrest of Several Citizens, Including Two Minors, During Protests in Various Cities

Following reports on the arrests of December 2025 protesters, human rights sources report that at least six citizens, including two minors aged 15 and 17, were arrested in the cities of Dehloran, Lali, Izeh, and Esfarayen during December 30 to January 2, 2026.

According to these reports, Kourosh Nouri, a 15-year-old minor, was arrested in Dehloran on Friday, January 2, 2026. Additionally, Arian Salahshoor, a 17-year-old from Izeh, was arrested by security forces on Tuesday, December 30, 2025, on Khomeini Street in Izeh and transferred to an unknown location.

During the same period, Bagher Ghanbari, a Lor citizen from Lali, was arrested on Wednesday, December 31, 2025, during public protests. In the early hours of Thursday, January 1, 2026, Pouria Key-Shams, a 20-year-old from Izeh, was also detained by government forces.

Furthermore, Ali Ghoveydel, a Kurdish activist from Esfarayen in North Khorasan Province, was arrested on Thursday, January 1, 2026, and Sharif Azad, a citizen from Dehloran in Ilam Province, was detained on Wednesday, December 31, 2025, during protests.

Human rights sources have expressed concern over the arrest of minors, the unknown whereabouts of some detainees, and violations of the right to a fair trial.
