Amid the violent crackdown on civil protests in December 2025–January 2026, by Iran’s military and security forces, at least five citizens were killed by direct gunfire on Wednesday, 31 December, and Thursday, 01 January, in the cities of Azna and Kuhdasht in Lorestan Province, and in Lordegan, a city in Chaharmahal and Bakhtiari Province.
According to reports, two of the victims in Lordegan have been identified as Ahmad Jalil, 21, and Sajad Valamanesh, 28. In Azna, a 15-year-old teenager identified as Mostafa (last name unknown) and Vahab Mousavi were killed as a result of direct shooting by security forces. Additionally, in the city of Kuhdasht, Amirhesam Khodayari-Fard, 22, has been reported as another victim of the deadly crackdown.
These deaths occurred during what sources describe as a severe suppression of peaceful protests, with human rights groups continuing to raise concerns over the use of lethal force against demonstrators and civilians.
