On Sunday, July 4, 2021, “Shakiba Bakhtiar” 16 years old was murdered by her father.
Shakiba Bakhtiar native of Kermashan and lived with her family.
She was stabbed several times and lost her life due to the severity of her injuries.
According to a report received by the Kurdistan Human Rights Association, Shakiba Bakhtiar was attacked by her father and stabbed for returning from the market late.
The blows and the severity of the injuries caused by it eventually lead to the death of this teenage girl.
The past year has seen a sharp increase in the number of family homicides and the killing of women and girls by their families.
So far, no serious action has been taken to deal with this type of horrific incident.
