According to the KMMK News Center, Shayan Asadi, a Lor protester, was killed on Tuesday, January 01, 2026, in Azna County, Lorestan Province, after security forces opened fire. At the same time, unofficial reports received by the outlet indicate that at least three other citizens were also killed in the city.
Based on information from local sources, Shayan Asadi was shot by security forces during public protests in Azna and died either at the scene or shortly after being transferred due to the severity of his injuries.
Local sources also report a heavy deployment of security forces and the imposition of a highly securitized atmosphere across Azna following the incident. Witnesses say the presence of security units has increased in key areas of the city, with restrictions placed on citizens’ movement.
The KMMK News Center stresses that, in addition to this confirmed case, unofficial reports from local sources point to the deaths of three more citizens in Azna during the same events.
