The KMMK News Center reports that amid the expansion of nationwide protests in December 2025–January 2026, dozens of Kurdish citizens have been arrested or abducted by government forces across the provinces of Hamedan, Lorestan, Ilam, and Khuzestan. In many cases, their fate and whereabouts remain unknown.
According to the report, Hamzeh Imani from Asadabad (Hamedan Province) and Farhad Khodarahmi from Nahavand were arrested on the evening of 31 December during the protests. Additionally, Shapour Alborzi, a 16-year-old boy from Izeh, was abducted by government forces on 30 December, and no information has yet been released regarding his condition or location.
In Kuhdasht, the city’s prosecutor announced the arrest of 20 citizens without disclosing their identities or legal status. At the same time, provincial authorities reported the killing of one Basij member and injuries to 13 others.
Reports also confirm the arrests of Bijan Karimian (21) in Dareh Shahr, Raziyeh Khahesh in Yasuj, Pezhman Pegah in Baghmalek, and Arman Soleimani in Izeh.
In Dehloran, Ilam Province, at least 11 Kurdish citizens were arrested following peaceful protests after security forces raided their homes. They were transferred to Ilam, and more than 24 hours later, no information has been provided regarding their place of detention or legal status.
The December 2025 protests began on 7 Dey in response to the worsening economic crisis and have spread to more than 10 cities. The KMMK News Center emphasizes that denying detainees access to legal counsel, contact with their families, and other fundamental rights constitutes a clear violation of the Islamic Republic of Iran’s international human rights obligations.
