Urmia; The death of a political prisoner in the IR’s government prison


According to the reports received, on Saturday, April 16, 2023, the 63-year-old political prisoner Abdullah Badawi from Sharif Abad village, Urmia district, who was imprisoned in the Iranian government prison in that city, suffered a stroke and died due to being deprived of medical services.

According to this report, this political prisoner suffers from heart disease and diabetes, and despite the advice of doctors, the prison authorities denied him access to medical services and sick leave.

It is necessary to remind, in July 2014, Abdullah Badawi was sentenced to death for 2 years in prison on charges of acting against national security through membership in one of the Kurdistan parties and in another case related to drug crimes. In recent years, it was reduced to life imprisonment.
