The Human Rights Deficiency Report for March 2022 summarizes the efforts of the Kurdistan Human Rights Association, citing reports compiled by the human rights organization.
This report isn’t a complete report due to the lack of permission of the Iranian government to human rights organizations and groups and depicts only a part of human rights violations in Kurdistan.
The government of the Islamic Republic of Iran violates the civil, political and social rights of the Kurdish people by detaining Kurdish citizens, and has continued to do so.
Violations of freedom of opinion and expression, violations of the right to life and personal security, and government discrimination are cases that are perpetrated daily by the Iranian government.
This month, the execution policies of our compatriots have continued, so that in this month, 6 people were executed and 2 others were sentenced to death.
_ Assassination and enforced disappearances
It should be noted that assassinations, killings and direct shootings of citizens by the Iranian government have continued. In this context, one citizen was killed in a suspicious manner and also a direct shot was fired at a group of citizens, as a result of which 2 people were killed and 2 others were injured.
_ Arrest and imprisonment
This month, we have witnessed the continuous arrest and imprisonment of citizens in Oshnavieh, Urmia, Sanandaj, Kermashan, Mahabad, Khoramabad, Ilam, Hamedan and Lorestan. According to statistics compiled this month, 120 of our compatriots, civil and political activists have been arrested and imprisoned, seven of whom are women.
16 citizens have been sentenced to 47 years in prison following the arbitrary sentencing of the Kurdish people.
_ Kolbars and merchants
The kolbars, as always, have been directly attacked by the Iranian armed forces. The Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC), known as a terrorist group, and the Iranian Border Guards have also targeted the kolbars this month, killing two kolbars and wounding 37 others. It should be noted that so far no institution in Iran and Kurdistan has taken constructive action in this regard and no one has been prosecuted for this crime.
The number of suicides and murders of citizens is increasing, and we have witnessed an increase in suicides and murders of citizens, especially young people and women. Suicides and murders of 14 people have been reported this month. Of these, 11 committed suicide and three others were killed.
According to information gathered this month, a citizen of Kurdistan was injured by a landmine.
Finally, the Human Rights Society of Kurdistan calls on the society and people of Kurdistan to be diligent in achieving their legal and natural rights, to mediate any human rights violations, and to be diligent in creating a free society.
