On Thursday, July 8, 2021, near the village of Bastam (the border between Marivan and Saqez), 2 native of bokan named “Rashid Ahmadzadeh” resident of “Qaranjeh” and “Masoud Najafi” from “Qara-bagh” villages of bokan were killed by artillery shells left from 8-years war between Iran and Iraq.
According to the report, the two citizens were shepherds and rented the pastures of the border area around the “Bastam”, without knowing that there was a bullet left over from the Iran-Iraq war.
It should be noted that a large number of citizens of East Kurdistan die every year due to landmines and unexploded ordnance in the border areas between East and South of Kurdistan.
