KMMK strongly condemns the Turkish and Iranian military attacks on KRG

KMMK strongly condemns the Turkish and Iranian military attacks on KRG, the Kurdistan Region in northern Iraq. The new attacks are the continuation of aggressive, inhumane and fascistic policies of these two governments against Kurdish people.
Over the past few days the Turkish military has repeatedly targeted areas of KRG with heavy airstrikes which disrupted public life. At the same time, the Iranian military has carried out artillery attacks on the border areas of Kurdistan and severely destroyed and damaged forests in the border regions.
The attacks on the Kurdistan region are in clear violation of the national sovereignty of KRG and the federal government of Iraq, and against international law. The United Nations, the European Union, the United States of American and other UN Security Council members need to intervene and stop these inhumane attacks on KRG and on the Kurdish people.
The nonaction, inaction and inappropriate response of the international community and the influential countries in global politics and security would be interpreted as a confirmation of the inhuman, brutal and genocidal policies against Kurdish people by the governments of Turkey and Iran.
KMMK calls on the United Nations, the European Union, the United States of America and UN Security Council member states to take urgent action to to stop these attacks in order to prevent further killings of Kurdish civilians by the Turkish and Iranian militaries.
KMMK also calls on Kurdish organizations and political parties to unify and take immediate action against the occupation of the Turkish and Iranian government by seeking political convergence to protect Kurdish civilians.
