According to a report from the Kurdistan Human Rights Association, on Monday 4 August 2017, a young woman died because of burning by self immolation over the last few days.
According to the news, “Galavizh Veisy” is a young woman from Javanrud and living in Ravansar who is married and has two children. She has been self immolate because of family disputes.
It should be noted that due to the proliferation of the outcomes of the mass media (Internet, Satellite), the awareness among the various sections of the society, especially women, has grown in matters of violation of their rights (discrimination and injustice).
These factors, in turn, are the major factors that in Iran, in general, and in Kurdistan, in particular, play a decisive role in driving people to suicide and in the worst forms of self-immolation. It should be noted that since the beginning of this year, suicide rates in eastern Kurdistan have already included 20 women and 21 men.
