Denial of the existence of political prisoners by the secretary of the Human Rights Directorate of the Judiciary of the Islamic Republic of Iran

According to the Kurdistan Human Rights Association Report, Javad Larijani, secretary of the Human Rights Directorate of the Islamic Republic of Iran’s Judiciary, responded to criticism of the mistreatment of political prisoners. There are no political prisoners in the Islamic Republic.

Mohammad Jawad Larijani stated in an interview with an unrealistic definition of a political prisoner: “A political prisoner means a person who has been politically engaged in the law, but who has been illegally imprisoned because his rulers and system administrators did not like him. According to this definition, there are no political prisoners in the Islamic Republic system. ”

This official of the Islamic Republic of Iran denied the existence of political prisoners and called it a conspiracy of the opponents and enemies of the Iranian government.

Officials of the Islamic Republic have always rejected the presence of political prisoners in Iran and considered the reasons for the imprisonment of political critics as “security offenses”.

Meanwhile, there are now hundreds of political prisoners in Iran’s prisons, prisoners who were deprived of their smallest rights and were only imprisoned for reason of intellectual and ideological reasons. It should be noted that the majority of political prisoners in Iran are Kurds.
